Our story
Why Become The Table?
For a long time, I thought about the phrase:
“If they don’t invite you to the table, build your own.”
But eventually I realized I wanted something different.
I didn’t just want to build another table that some people could access and others couldn’t.
I wanted to become the table.
To become the kind of person and create the kind of community where people can gather, ask questions, heal, learn, disagree, grow, and encounter Jesus.
That became Become The Table.
What this space is about
Some people have walked with Jesus for decades. Some are returning after years away. Some love God but don’t trust the church anymore. Some have questions they’ve been afraid to ask because they’re worried someone will judge their faith. And some aren’t even sure where they stand.
Become The Table exists for those conversations.
This space is rooted in Jesus and Scripture, but it isn’t built on pretending Christianity is always easy or that Christians always get everything right.
- We can believe the Bible is true and still wrestle with it.
- We can love the Church while acknowledging that churches and church people can cause real harm.
- We can pursue holiness without abandoning grace.
- And we can ask difficult questions without being afraid that God is intimidated by them.
Gather
- Make room for people.
- Listen before assuming.
- Build community instead of cliques.
Grow
- Keep learning.
- Keep asking.
- Keep allowing God to challenge and transform you.
Guide
- Point people toward Jesus.
- Use Scripture responsibly.
- Share wisdom without pretending to know everything.
Give Grace
- Tell the truth with compassion.
- Leave room for people to grow.
- Remember how much grace God has extended to us.

About Lo
Hey, I’m Lo.
I’m a Christian, pilot, lifelong question-asker, and the person behind Become The Table.
I love Jesus deeply, but I also believe faith is strong enough to withstand honest questions.
Over the years, I’ve watched people become discouraged by church experiences, confusing theology, unanswered questions, unrealistic expectations, and environments where asking the wrong thing could make you feel like something was wrong with you.
I wanted to help create something different.
Become The Table is my small attempt to create space for real conversations about faith while continually pointing people back to Jesus.
I’m not here because I have every answer. I’m here because I believe we can seek them together.
And I believe there should always be room for one more chair.
